Volunteers needed at good as new thrift store

The Good as New store is looking for a few good volunteers. There are many opportunities for helping at the store and helping those who come to shop for clothing and other items that are priced very reasonably. All you really need is a few hours to give on a regular basis, love for people and willingness to work with others who have a desire to offer great quality items at a very, very reasonable price.

If you are new to volunteering, no problem, we can help you to grow in serving others.

You may also want to consider the May 29th workshop to help understand the experiences of individuals living in poverty.

Call the Rectory Office at (207) 532-2871.

You may also Inquire with Deacon Al or Dave Grant.

Parents encouraged to sign children up for faith day camp

“Totus Tuus,” Pope Saint John Paul II’s episcopal motto meaning “Totally Yours, ” is a weeklong program for children in grades 1-12. Its mission is to inspire in young people a true longing for holiness. Organized the Diocese of Portland’s Office of Vocations, each session is led by diocesan seminarians and college students. The schedule features daily Mass, prayer, classroom teaching, lunch, music, games, and more.

St. Mary’s, St. Agnes’ and St. Paul’s families are encouraged to send their children to the local program, which will be at the Parish of the Precious Blood in Caribou July 14-19. Transportation will be provided.

The program for children runs from 9am-3pm while the teen program runs from 7:30-9:30pm

“They show a real desire to want to grow closer to God and learn more about their faith,” said Liam Gallagher, a diocesan seminarian who led the “Totus Tuus” team in Maine in 2018. “It’s awe-inspiring. It’s incredible. That’s why we’re doing it. That’s what it’s all about. It’s the new evangelization at work.”
