St. Mary's Adult Faith Formation provides a number of different opportunities for adults primarily on Sunday mornings from September through May.
These opportunities include:
Monthly Well-Read Mom Book Club
Women in our cluster are invited to join a Catholic women’s book discussion group. Well-Read Mom (WRM) accompanies women in the reading of great books and spiritual classics to encourage personal growth, friendship, and meaningful conversations in order to explore the human condition and reorient ourselves to what is good, beautiful, and true. WRM groups read one book per month and meet to discuss once a month. Book selections for each year correspond to the themes of a woman's life. More information can be found here.
Sunday Adult Discussion Group - Twice per Month September - May
Adult formation sessions held twice per month immediately after Sunday 8:00am Mass will being using the Messy Family Project - Parenting in a Catholic Family.
Expectations of parents today are unrealistic and overwhelming. Everything from experts to social media puts parents under the microscope in a way that can cause anxiety and second-guessing. And as any parent knows, that’s unhelpful. And yes, parents are raising children in a culture that is not only unsupportive of even having kids, but is actively working to undermine the whole concept of parenting! Additionally, the supports that were once there to teach people how to parent—families of origin, supportive communities, dynamic churches—are missing in the lives of many of us. ALL of this contributes to many moms and dads feeling alone, overwhelmed, and stealing from them the joy that should accompany family life!
