The Catholic Faith is the faith established by Jesus Christ and his Apostles. With an unbroken succession from the Lord Himself to the Pope and bishops of today, the Catholic Church is the only Christian faith that contains the fullness of Truth given to mankind by Jesus Christ.
First and foremost, the Catholic faith is both a Biblical and Sacramental faith. Its teachings are firmly grounded in the Bible, in which St. Paul clearly writes that the Lord "desires everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:4). All men and women are invited by the Lord to become Catholic - whether atheist, Protestant, Muslim or Hindu. Jesus Christ loves every person in his brokenness and desires every person to know freedom from slavery to sin and the joy of living a life filled with His peace, joy and love.
The process for becoming Catholic is called the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA). OCIA is the beginning of a life-long journey of faith. It is a special time of preparation which is focused on helping the person grow in relationship with Jesus Christ and to learn how to follow Him every day. The OCIA process can last from six months to several years, depending on the person. Contacting us to learn more is NOT a commitment to become Catholic. In fact, OCIA begins with a period of learning the basics of the faith so that the person can make an informed decision about whether to continue on to become Catholic.
Individuals who would like to learn more about becoming Catholic are invited to contact the Pastor or the Parish Catechetical Leader.
