COR Men's Group - Starting Saturday, September 12 at 7:00am in the Parish Center
Catholic men in the greater Houlton are are invited to monthly COR meetings. In a world that often promotes isolation, we can forget that God designed us for community. We are not meant to walk this journey of faith alone.
The bond of Christ-centered brotherhood helps men remain focused on their mission to grow in holiness. It fosters a sense of duty to one another — we are our brother’s keeper. We desire the good of our brothers as much as our own, striving to support one another in becoming the husbands, fathers and saints that God calls us to be. As the center of our bond, Jesus is the unifying source of our strength, purpose, and direction.
The COR brotherhood in Houlton helps to refocus Catholic men on Jesus Christ and to form and strengthen them in faith and virtue through a brotherhood committed to prayer, formation, and fraternity. Christ-centered brotherhood is a bond formed through baptism, uniting us as adopted sons of God and brothers with Jesus. As brothers in Christ, we are called to grow in relationship with Jesus, sharpen each other in virtue and support one another in living out our Catholic faith. We strive to live a life worthy of our calling — to become the men God created us to be, and to walk together toward heaven.
Heart of St. Francis Fraternity
The Secular Franciscan Order is a vocation, a Way of Life approved by the Church, for men and women, married or single, who are called to take an active part in the mission of Christ to bring "the good news of salvation" to the world. Secular Franciscans commit themselves to a life in Christ calling for a positive effort to promote Gospel attitudes among their contemporaries. They are united with each other in communities, through which they develop a sense of direction according to the Gospel spirit of Saint Francis of Assisi. The community in Houlton meets monthly for formation and fellowship.
